The Action Week this year will take place on 13-19 October 2008. It is closely tied to unions' efforts to organise the unorganised under the slogan "Organising Globally - Building union power".

This popular global campaign started in 1997 as an action day titled "Fatigue Kills! Cut Driving Hours Now". 90% of our unions have participated in this event at least once since then. A wide-range of activities take place during the week from demos and marches to safety inspections and seminars.

During this week, we also wish to highlight attacks on workers' rights. One prominent case is the continued oppression of the independent workers' movement in Iran. A special award will be presented to the ITF-affiliated Vahed Syndicate during the week by Solidar. Click here for more details >>
