"Free Osanloo!" ITF Badge Campaign

The ITF would like to express our appreciation to all the unions who are supporting our international campaign in solidarity with the Iranian workers in particular our affiliate, the Tehran Bus Workers' Union (Vahed Syndicate).

As a result of our action day, organised jointly with the ITUC on 9 August, Mansour Osanloo, President, Vahed Syndicate was allowed to meet with his lawyers and family.  His imprisonment, however continues, together with the union's Vice-President, Ebrahim Madadi.

In order to keep the momentum of our campaign and to further demand the immediate and unconditional release of Mansour Osanloo and Ebrahim Madadi, we are organising an ITF Badge Campaign that will coincide with the ITF's International Road Transport Workers' Action Week.

What you can do:

During the Action Week, we are calling upon our unions, and in particular the bus workers to wear the campaign badge at work.

You may also consider organising a meeting at your workplace to discuss the issue; organising an exhibition/information desk; writing an article for your journal; organising a press conference; leafleting the public; sending messages; lobbying your members of parliament; or taking any other action you consider appropriate.

So far, road transport workers' unions from Norway, Spain, Great Britain, Austria, Romania, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Mauritius, Tanzania, Canada, Thailand, Korea and Australia have endorsed the ITF Badge Campaign.

Campaign Materials

In addition to the badge, the ITF has prepared material, which can be downloaded for use during the Action Week as part of the ITF Badge Campaign.  These include the "Free Osanloo" campaign poster and a chronology of events (which can be displayed next to the poster).  They are available in English, French and Spanish.
