Page context: International Railway Workers' Action Day 2010
Read reports of activities organised for the Action Day:
The ITF Railway Workers' International Action Day will be held on
Tuesday 13 April 2010
Railway workers' unions all over the world will take a variety of actions to appeal for the importance of railways under the slogan:
"Campaigning for the Global Future of Rail - Strong Unions, Sustainable Transport"
ITF unions can adopt additional sub-slogans nationally or regionally if necessary. Some unions in the past have in fact organised a varitey of events that may not be confined to one day.
In Europe, the ETF and its railway unions will be holding a European Railway Workers' Action Day on 13 April 2010 to focus their strong dissatisfaction after almost 20 years of liberalisation, fragmentation and privatisation of the railways in Europe. It is enshrined in the global campaign being led by the ITF. The ETF Secretariat is in touch with our European affiliates for this event
