Have you ever thought how many people are involved to make your plane journey safe and efficient? Many are ground handlers.
Ground handling includes check-in, baggage handling, aircraft parking, passenger loading and fuelling of aircraft.
Every day, ground handling professionals help to move millions of passengers across Europe. Their work is often complex and their skills high. How they do their jobs is essential to the safety and security of Europe’s skies.
The European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) and its member trade unions are concerned that the rules governing ground handling are undermining quality jobs and services in airports. We are opposed to possible new EU legislation that could make the situation worse.
The ETF is asking supporters to sign an online petition to support the ‘Handle With Care’ Campaign.
