ITF Worldwide Women Transport Workers’ Conference
London 3-4 February 2010
The conference, will take as its theme “Making a Difference – Women Transport Workers in the 21st Century. The Conference document has been designed as a consultation paper for women attending the events leading up to the 42nd ITF Congress that will be held in Mexico City in August 2010.

The event will also provide a chance for unions to review the ITF’s work for women transport workers and will include presentations on organising women transport workers in the different transport modes and world regions.
The ITF welcomes a wide range of participants, from lay members to union officers and women’s coordinators.

Please complete the online meeting registration form below by November 30 2009. The ITF cannot guarantee any hotel booking after this date. Please let us have your flight details –as if your flight arrives early in the morning it may be necessary to book a hotel room from the day before and the normal rate will be charged for this extra day.
Languages
Please note, according to participation, there will be simultaneous translation available in English, French, and Spanish. Arabic, German, Japanese, Russian and Scandinavian languages may be available on demand and costs permitting.
If affiliates wish to provide interpretation support, the ITF Secretariat will fully cooperate to assist the affiliate’s interpretation support in any way it can. Please inform Alison McGarry if you have language support needs as soon as possible.
Assistance towards Cost of Attendance
The cost of attendance to the ITF Women’s Conference should be borne by the organisations represented. However, a small budget has been established for providing assistance to unions, which would, otherwise, be unable to participate at the ITF Women’s conference. Any affiliates wishing to submit a request for assistance must submit a written request by November 30 2009
Childcare
The ITF is committed to providing childcare assistance, for those needing childcare. Therefore it may be possible to hire local qualified personnel to care for children. The cost will need to be borne by the affiliate concerned and will depend on the number of people who wish to take advantage of this facility, childcare will only be a viable option if enough delegates inform us well in advance that they will be using this service.

Insurance
Please note that the ITF does not provide insurance cover and does not accept responsibility for, medical problems as other losses incurred during travel to or from or during attendance at this meeting. Those travelling from outside the UK are strongly advised to take out appropriate travel insurance to provide this cover.
Visas
We cannot emphasise too strongly the need for you to allow adequate time for your visa to be processed and you should, therefore, apply for your visa as soon as possible. If you experience any problems in obtaining your visa, please contact the ITF Travel and events staff immediately.
