The ITF has the following vacancy at its London Headquarters:

Assistant Secretary (B3) Dockers’ Section

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), a London-based international federation of 654 transport trade unions in 148 countries representing around 4.5 million workers, is looking for an Assistant Secretary (B3) Dockers’ Section to be based in London and to start as soon as possible.

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for the successful the candidate being a senior position within the ITF Secretariat and one that will need significant experience in the trade union movement and of dealing with international issues.  Direct experience of the issues that are currently facing the Dock Workers’ and the port industry will be a significant advantage. Fluent written and spoken English is essential and a good working knowledge of another language will be valuable.

Excellent conditions accompany a salary of £41,516.00 plus an annual bonus of £3,459.70. Annual leave will start at 22 days per annum pro-rata in the year of joining.
 
It is anticipated that interviews will take place in London in August 2009.
